Cool Season Vegetable Gardening for Beginners
Beginner Gardening Help Group - Cool Season Crops
These participation sessions will fill up quickly. Please only register if you can attend all six sessions.
Would you like to grow your own organic vegetables, but don’t know how to get started? Would you like to learn which vegetables are suitable for growing in the fall and winter and grow best in Alameda County? These and many other topics will be covered in the upcoming Beginning Gardener Support Group sessions offered by the Master Gardeners of Alameda County over the course of six weeks. All six one-hour sessions will be via interactive Zoom and will focus on cool-season vegetable gardening. No experience with Zoom is required to participate.
Two groups will be offered: Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. The Saturday group will be limited to 15 participants.
The individual support group sessions will consist of a short presentation by a Master Gardener on one topic, such as how to deal with pests. Each participant then can share photos or video of their garden and ask questions of the instructor. You must be willing to start a cool-season vegetable garden if you are not already planning to have one. Preference will be given to Alameda County residents for the sessions, and you must be at least 18-years old to participate.
